President's Letter
It is my honor and privilege to serve as the President of the Pasadena Guild of Children's Hospital Los Angeles. The Pasadena Guild, as one of the first affiliate groups established to support CHLA, has a rich and collaborative history with the Hospital. For nearly eighty years, the Guild has worked to raise more than forty-three million dollars for the Hospital, successfully completing nine Guild endowments and two capital campaign projects. We are inspired by knowing that our partnership with CHLA allows miracles to happen for children every day.
Our two fundraisers, the Treasures and Trivia Sale and the June Debutante Ball, are woven into the fabric of Los Angeles, Pasadena and the San Gabriel Valley with widely respected community support. The Guild has just completed a three million dollar endowment of the Pasadena Guild Chair, Pediatrician-in-Chief and Senior Vice President, Academic Affairs, held by Robert E. Shaddy, MD. Now we look to the future.
We will be working with CHLA in selecting our next project. Our hope is to have this process completed by the end of May and announced in June. I will keep you updated.
I am grateful to work with our talented and dedicated Board of Directors and the entire Pasadena Guild membership. The Guild is a strong group of supremely capable and committed members who strive to bring hope and compassion to the young patients of Children’s Hospital and their families. I am proud that our support will allow future generations of children to live happier and healthier lives.
All the best,
Rita Dutton Bristol (Rita)
